Welcome to the Olliebears site

The Olliebears are really two Newfoundland Dogs as you can see above

Sumie (12.5yrs) is on the left and Thunder (11.5yrs) on the right.

Sadly Sumie fell asleep for the last time at 2.45pm on the 13 June 2007

He happily spent most of his life laying outside watching the world go by (while we froze inside because he didn't like the door shut!) He continues to sleep there.

Loved by all he met both young and old.

IN SUMIE'S MEMORY - ONE OF MY POEMS

Another day passes and I think of you

Another day passing with me, still blue

You was a rock, a guide, and my friend

And all I have now is a grave to tend

I still miss you so and still cry because I let you go

It was a task I hated to do, but you wanted to leave,

You had enough, and I knew

As so often, I held you tight, one last cuddle,

To be our last goodnight

You have left behind such a big empty space

I hope that you know, I so miss your face

Your brother goes on but he’s no longer the same

Without you by his side there is no fame

His playmate, his backup, his washer of ears

His real fun has gone and now he shows all his fears

If there is a heaven, there is hope my dear friend

That we’ll all walk together, again, in the end.
