Autumn is here, there’s a chill in the air

Night time brings frosts for the dawn to share

The leaves on trees once green and bold

Now shrivel back and turn to gold

The grass that was lush, soft and green

Turns black in the frost where the walkers have been

Birds that flew here for the summer sun

Now return home from whence they had come

Flowers that grew tall in the suns hot rays

Lie flat to the ground in these shortening days

People that were friendly whilst summer had hold

Just quietly shuffle past in the increasing cold

Animals feed up to store some fuel

A long hard winter can be so cruel

Autumn! A season of multi-coloured hues

The final spectacle before the winter blues

Mother Nature worked hard to create the perfect plan

We have to protect it, for future Man.
